Trips outside regions

While creating an analysis, you can choose one of the two following parameters:

Trip parameters section with two radio button options: 'Add to external region' and 'Trim to defined regions', with the former selected
Additional trip parameters
  • Add to external region: This parameter ensures that all trips with a start or end point outside of your defined region will be added to a separate External region, rather than being assigned to the region they traveled through. Only trips that start or end exactly within your defined regions will be added to those regions.

Only the trips that started or ended exactly at the regions you defined will be added to those regions.

  • Trim to defined regions: This parameter, which is selected by default, adds trips that started or ended outside of your regions (but traveled through them) to the region they were first and last seen in. No additional External region will be created, as the trips will be trimmed to the regions you have defined.
