Yes!

To import a custom map style to Figma design, use the TomTom Maps Generator Plugin for Figma. To learn more, see the Figma Plugin guide on the Developer Portal.

Can I import the JSON style file from disk?

Yes, if you already have a style file compatible with MapLibre Style Specification you can upload it to Map Maker.

  1. Open Map Maker.
  2. Click Add style.
  3. Click the Upload style tab.
  4. Select the style file from the disk and click Open style.

Note that if the style was not created in Map Maker some functionalities like Foundations won’t be available. Third-party (non-TomTom) map styles are not supported. If a style you are uploading is a standard unmodified TomTom style, it’s best to create a new style to get the most out of the Map Maker.

There’s no coding required to use TomTom Map Maker.

You can modify, publish, and share styles using the Map Maker user interface. Some advanced features like layer editing may require familiarity with the MapLibre Style Specification.

To learn more about the map style, see Introduction to the map style.

How can I deploy map styles to my applications and prototypes?

The easiest way to add a custom style to your application is to use the style url.

Use a draft version of the style to quickly iterate, prototype and review. Once you’re happy with the changes, publish them to the production style used in the end application.

If you are using Figma for designing and prototyping, you can use the TomTom Maps Generator Plugin for Figma to import a customized map image to your Figma designs.
