Release 18.4 Deledda

Before testing this release, please understand that Android does not support downgrading. Once a Bridge device has been upgraded to 18.3 or later it cannot be downgraded to 18.1 or earlier. Android 6 uses more memory, the expected free memory (RAM) for 3rd party applications is approximately 200MB or slightly less.

Release notes:

  • Navigation application bugfixes and improvements
  • Pico TTS Engine (Note: this is an interim measure while the full TTS is being enabled on Marshmallow and will not be included in future releases)
  • Improved HDMI support for TomTom Bridge Hub
  • Improvements to system UI and notification scaling on attached screens
  • Latest security patches.
  • Added functionality to auto-accept runtime permissions when specified
  • External camera widget re-enabled

Some features that were available on Android 4.3 are not yet available on Android 6, being:

  • Vocalizer Expressive Engine (TTS) planned for a later release
  • BT auto reconnect.
  • Speech recognition & wake up word.

This is the latest 17.6 release. The previous 17.6 version is no longer available.

Before integrating this release, we highly recommend reading the Android 6 FAQ and the Android 6 update page. Please beware that once updated to Android 6 devices cannot be downgraded. Please test your release extensively. With this new configuration, the available RAM memory space for 3rd party applications is approximately 200MB (on a device with 1GB of RAM).
