General info
Recommended default SoC values
The Navigation System uses a set of configurable values for different parts of the LDEVR experience.
Adjust the default SoC buffer (Min Charge) values based on vehicle range
to create a consistent experience for all drivers. With these adjustments, models with larger battery packs or
improved efficiency will have similar remaining distance at arrival based on their SoC buffer values.
Validate adjustments under real-world conditions to ensure the desired driving experience.
The following configurable values are used:
- Min Charge At Destination: Minimum charge when arriving at destination (default: 15% SoC)
- Min Charge At Charging Stop: Minimum charge when arriving at next charging stop (default: 15% SoC)
- Critical Min Charge At Destination Percentage: Percentage of minimum charge used for home destinations to avoid unnecessary charging when a private charger is available (default: 35% of Min Charge At Destination)
Default charging stop parameters
The following default parameters are used when calculating the minimum time needed for a charging stop:
- Min Charge Time: Minimum charging time at a station, even if more than needed (overcharge). Fixed at 300 seconds (5 minutes), not configurable.
- Charging Time Offset: Overhead time estimated for a charging stop (exiting vehicle, connecting pole, initiating session, etc.). Added to total charging time without allocation to the charging session (default: 180 seconds).
