TomTom Supports the European Startup Prize for Mobility
Shaping the Future of Mobility in Europe
Between February and April this year, the European Startup Prize for Mobility (EUSP) received over 550 submissions of teams looking to scale their sustainable mobility startup. After months of review, the EUSP announced the fifty startups that were selected as finalists.
One of their prizes? The chance at a winning spot in the top ten, and access to 1 million Maps API credits provided by TomTom. This reward is part of the new acceleration program to support finalists following the COVID-19 crisis. Learn more about the Day After Programme.
The EUSP is a leading public-private initiative, co-founded by the European Parliament’s Transportation and Tourism Committee. It aims to support innovation in order to shape a new landscape for sustainable mobility in Europe and around the world. This challenge helps sustainable mobility startups to grow faster, in order to benefit citizens of the European Union, the EU’s tech ecosystem, and the planet.
As a trusted ecosystem partner, we are proud to be part of a challenge that aligns so closely to our vision. At TomTom, we are location specialists with a vision of a safer world, free of congestion and emissions. We are proud to partner with a program that enables young companies to reimagine the way we move.
We've offered APIs to the top 50 finalists to help build their mobility solutions. With one million APIs at their disposal, there are no limits to what they can and will create. We believe innovation happens when you have creative freedom. That's why our Developer Portal is an alternative platform that is flexible, ad-free, and without restrictions. Great ideas often challenge the status-quo and disript industries. With TomTom, we enable you to build outside the lines.
Finalists are able to choose from our wide API product portfolio, including: Maps, Directions, Places, Traffic and Tracking. For more specific mobility offerings, we hope to see finalists explore features like:
The 10 winners of the EU Prize will be awarded with a dedicated program to recover and boost their business in the context of the COIVD-19 socio-economic crisis. The winner will be announced in November 2020. We look forward to seeing the solutions the finalists come up with!
Good luck to everyone involved, and happy building!
