Where do I find the new endpoints

The TomTom Orbis Maps endpoints are offered from the same Intermediate Traffic API. The following endpoints are supported:

  • TomTom Intermediate Traffic Incidents
  • TomTom Intermediate Traffic Flow Detailed

If you are interested in using them, please contact your TomTom account manager.

Changes in the parameters or responses

  • There are no changes in parameters.
  • To process the responses of our APIs for TomTom Orbis Maps-specific features, new versions of the schemas are required. They can be found on the Downloads page. The schema extensions are backward compatible with the current schema versions for TomTom Map-based content.

Changes in the Features

TomTom Intermediate Traffic Incidents

  • Identifier-based location referencing using OSM-way IDs (hereafter called 'IDLR-OSM') is offered as an alternative location referencing method besides OpenLR.
  • TMC location referencing is not supported.
  • Due to map differences, some differences in the output data set are to be expected.

TomTom Intermediate Traffic Flow Detailed

  • IDLR-OSM is offered as an alternative method of location referencing besides OpenLR. This location information is accessible only when requesting the feeds with the URL parameter flowType=ff.
  • TMC location referencing is not supported.
  • On average, the road network coverage per country increased by 30%, resulting in a larger data size of the feed.
