TomTom Maps APIs Kickoff Meetup in Amsterdam
TomTom for Developers: Maps APIs – Europe
On June 20, 2019 at the Coding College in Amsterdam (CODAM), TomTom software engineers met with a group of local developers to talk about Search, SDKs, Maps and EV Routing. This was our first developer’s meetup, where we planned to help solve a hot topic in mobility for developers: Where do I charge my electric vehicle (EV) and will I make it back?
Along with EV charging and APIs we also discussed:
- How to integrate traffic information in your app
- Accurate ETA prediction
- Map data visualization
For our first event, we had a great turn out! Our main goal at the TomTom Developer Meetups is to support our community of developers who are creating the next generation of location applications. While we love talking about our APIs, it’s important that during our meetups we spend time chatting about your projects and how we can help speed up the development process for you while using our SDKs and APIs.
We talked with a bunch of attendees who are working on a variety of projects that need varying types of location and maps technology. From EV mobility applications to store locators and electric biking there are so may different ways to add location servies to a project to help bring it life.
There was a diverse group of developers who attended, and it was exciting to learn that a lot of them were interested in our upcoming APIs that will further support the EV industry. Trying to solve range anxiety for electric vehicle drivers is at the top of many developers minds as they are building out their projects – it’s awesome to know that we can help be part of their solution.
At the end of the event, we kicked back to snack, enjoy some beverages and chat about our projects and TomTom innovations! The kickoff event to our TomTom Meetup group was a success – and we can’t wait for the next one!
